Oil Painting Workshops

Alanah runs oil painting workshops in Bendigo, Victoria.

Her next 2-Day Portrait Painting workshop will be on the 20 & 21 September.

This workshop will be on Aluminium panel.

To book a place at this workshop, please email alanah_ellen@hotmail.com OR message her on Instagram or Facebook.

Payment plans are available.

Alanah will teach participants the fundamentals of portraiture, oil painting and colour theory through live demonstrations and one-on-one support.

This workshop is perfect for beginners and those with some experience.

The workshop hours are 9 am-5 pm at Alanah’s private residence/studio. The address will be emailed upon payment, inside a workshop booklet which will assist participants in selecting an image to paint and provide them with an itinerary and extra information.

All materials are included in the price of the workshop. This includes brushes, oil paint, an easel and a glass pallet to use for the duration of the workshop and a 30x40cm Aluminium panel to paint on that has been prepared for you.

Alanah asks that you email her a large-quality image (head and shoulders only) of the subject you wish to paint to alanah_ellen@hotmail.com a week before the workshop. Alongside preparing your surface Alanah will also print 2 images of this photograph for you, the first image will be in black and white and Alanah will assist you with image transferring this onto your prepared surface using pan pastel (the same process David Kassan and Shana Levenson use). The second image will be in colour and you will use it as a painting reference.

The residence/studio has a fridge and kitchen amenities such as a kettle, microwave and sandwich press that participants may use.

Alanah will book a table at Spring Gully Café for Lunch on both days, from 12.30 – 1.30pm, this is optional to attend. While your workshop materials are supplied, lunch at the cafe will be at your own cost. You are most welcome to bring your own lunch and eat at Alanah's residence/studio.

There will also be an artist dinner on Saturday night. This is to provide all participants with the opportunity to get to know each other in a more casual environment. This is also optional to attend, and the dinner will be at your own cost.

This event is non-refundable. If you cannot attend the workshop due to illness or an emergency Alanah will place the money towards a future workshop.
